The Petzl SPIN L1 swivel pulley is built strictly for climbing, rescue, and professional rope-access jobs. Heights kill fast. Never clip it into a system without solid training from someone who actually knows how swivels and high-efficiency pulleys behave under real load. Inspect it every time it comes out of the bag. A sheave that spins rough, a cracked red cover, a bent axle, or any play in the swivel joint means the pulley is done, retire it immediately. Run only ropes between 7 and 13 mm; skinnier lines can jump the sheave, thicker ones jam hard and wreck efficiency. The sealed bearings hate grit, rinse it after a muddy crevasse day or the 96 % rating drops quick.
